Self Care Sundays
Organizing, planning and preparation is what I do best! With three planners, a wall calendar, reminders set to my phone and endless journals of to-dos, I can handle all my business effectively and efficiently.
Six days out of the week I am very busy, but on Sundays I pause on all work and take the whole day to rejuvenate. Self care is super essential in my weekly routine. I like to do things that fuel my mind, body and spirit. Self care isn’t just running a bubble bath and listening to neo-soul, while wearing a face mask all day. Self care is tending to your needs and dedicating time to yourself for yourself. It’s vital we always remember that the most important person in our lives is ourselves. We can not pour into another’s cup, without ours being full. When you’re good and you’ve helped yourself, then you can began helping others.
I put together a “self care Sunday” routine and some suggestions for you so you can refresh, refocus, and plan for an amazing week! —-Keep in mind your self care routine can be as simple as taking a walk around the neighborhood and is not required to be a whole days worth of solitude and gratitude.
Here’s how my Sundays usually go:
Morning journaling - I start my Sundays writing in my journal. I take this time to reflect on my past week and in what areas of myself can I work on and improve. I write out weekly plans and goals, this helps with keeping my organized motivated.
Personal care - I usually have the house to myself on Sundays so I am able indulge in all things me. I may give myself a pedicure, face mask, hair treatment, bubble bath with wine and candles, and read a good book (right now I’m reading “Tryin’ To Sleep in The Bed You Made,” by Donna Grant and Virginia DeBerry ).
Cleaning - this is my favorite part of Sunday! I am a very particular person when it comes to cleanliness. I can’t function and everything in my living space is out of order. Cleanliness is next to greatness. I enjoy spending Sundays deep cleaning my house. I’m sure it was a chore growing up for all of us and now it has become a part of my self care routine, because cleaning actually makes me feel great!
