The best thing about fall is the beauty nature brings! The season changing is a representation of a fresh start, a reset. With only very few months left in 2019, it’s time to buckle down on the goals we set for ourselves at the start of the year. Along with our unresolved resolutions to fulfill, we must almost find time to unwind with a good book. Luckily, good books are my specialities!

The adventure follows a 14-year-old girl named Helen Thomas, a half mortal, who moves in with her turbulent family in North London, who only happen to be Greek Gods living disguised.

Much like the movie, you need to read the book. The plot follows Claireece Precious Jones who is an obese, illiterate 16-year-old girl who lives in  Harlem  with her abusive mother Mary. Precious is a few months pregnant with her second child, the result of being raped by her father, also the father of her first child. When her school discovers the pregnancy, it is decided that she should attend an alternative school.

The effect of the war is shown through the dynamic relationships of five people's lives including twin daughters of an influential businessman, a professor, a British citizen, and a houseboy. After  Biafra 's declaration of secession, the lives of the main characters drastically changed and were torn apart by the brutality of the civil war and decisions in their personal lives.
